5 Places In Nashville To Send Your Out Of Town Wedding Guests
Nashville is a hot spot for weddings and a popular vacation destination to boot. While you, your partner and your families may be busy during your wedding weekend - your guests will have a lot of downtime until it’s time to watch you say “I Do.”
Here are 5 places to send them so they have a quintessential Music City experience! Give these places a shout out in your welcome bag or on your wedding website!
Broadway is a main thoroughfare that runs through downtown Nashville and you’ll find the bulk of Nashville’s honky tonks on Lower Broad. You can hear really incredible live music from open to close (10am to 2am!) and children are welcome to join their parents during the day for a little music education! Tootsie’s is perhaps the most famous but other favorites include The Second Fiddle, Robert’s Western World and The Stage.
Just like Chicago has deep dish pizza and Philadelphia has cheese steaks - Nashville has hot chicken! You can find it on the menu at most restaurants in town but eateries like Hattie B’s and Prince’s specialize in the spicy, fried goodness that has become a regional favorite. Tread lightly because it’s not for the faint of heart!
This gorgeous 1930s estate is now home to the most incredible contemporary sculptures and 12 well-cultivated gardens. Cheekwood hosts year-round festivals to celebrate the four seasons (Cheekwood in Bloom is a highlight!) and has educational programming for all ages.
Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum
Country music is an amalgamation of several genres so even if you don’t consider yourself a “country music fan” - you’ll enjoy this well-curated museum. With over 2 million artifacts in their collection, the staff at the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum are constantly refreshing their permanent exhibits and adding temporary exhibits that consistently rotate. Bonus? It’s open 7 days a week from 9am to 5pm.
Just 14 miles south of Nashville you’ll find Franklin, a sweet southern town with a 16-block historic downtown perfect for strolling. Merchant highlights include White’s Mercantile (I can’t get out of there empty handed!) and Bink’s Outfitters. Head to Franklin Mercantile Deli, Meridee’s or Puckett’s Grocery and Restaurant if you need a taste of southern cooking!
