Cactus Wedding Inspiration at Nashville's Ruby
As a design-focused wedding planner, I’m always itching to step out of my comfort zone to create something fresh. So when Maggie from Maggie Rae Photography asked me to join her for a funky, southwestern wedding editorial shoot here in the mid-south - I jumped at the chance!
We wanted to bring the outdoors in and the gorgeous plaster walls at Nashville’s Ruby allowed the impressive cacti to shine. I pulled the color palette from a Mexican blanket of Maggie’s and incorporated a touch of turquoise in the jewelry and paper goods (by the oh-so talented Darby at Darby Cards!) to drive home the southwestern feel. The flower components by HG Florals were so deep and rich and a perfect accompaniment to the striking king protea! The two piece Noel & Jean gown from The Dress Theory paired with the model’s own boots, hat and bolo made for a rockin’ combination. Nashville Sweets nailed the hand painted two-tier cake topped with succulents and ranunculus.
We had an absolute blast pulling together all of the fun and funky details!
