Lunaria Inspired Wedding Editorial at The Livery in Lexington
When Kaytee from Roots Floral Design mentioned her interest in incorporating lunaria into our editorial wedding styled shoot, shot in Lexington, Kentucky at The Livery - I was sold! As each vendor came on board to collaborate we chatted about those gorgeous shimmery white, silver dollar-sized seed pods and ways we could weave them throughout.
Kristen from Five Dot Design had the brilliant idea to mimic the lunaria by using capiz shells to create a beautiful seating chart and Rebecca McGrannahan with The Cookie Social created a simple but stunning two-tiered cake that made the perfect backdrop for the dried plant pods. I was inspired to use a muted tone-on-tone color palette and the luxurious velvet linen and matte dinnerware from Bryant’s Rent-All paired with the leather napkin ties created the ideal mix of masculine and feminine. Shelbi Lawhorn kept the makeup fresh and flawless and the soft updo was perfectly highlighted by the lunaria. The structured lace bodice and striped full skirt on Nolan, the Tara LaTour gown from m. Elizabeth Bridal, paired so well with the cement gray suit from Generation Tux. The natural light provided by the skylight and floor-to-ceiling windows allowed Kathryn Frugé the opportunity to shoot a mix of digital and film.
I’m obsessed with this fresh take on a monochromatic color palette!
