Sara + Daniele's Sweet Surprise Wedding at Nashville's Ruby (Planned in 40 days!)
Planning a wedding in 40 days certainly lends itself to stress and exhaustion. But when that wedding is a SURPRISE wedding, well, it’s the most thrilling experience!
In the midst of uprooting their lives to pursue new opportunities in Austin - Sara and Daniele decided to tie the knot in a big, BIG way. They invited their family and friends to a blowout bash to celebrate their move from Tennessee to Texas and made plans to announce in their farewell toast that they were getting married that very night!
Over the course of a few weeks we met in secret over cups of coffee, bottles of wine and gorgeous cheese platters to plan their celebration, source like-minded vendors and fine tune their exciting reveal. Despite their hectic schedules (work transitions, moving trucks and a short planning timeline, OH MY!), Sara and Daniele were the epitome of calm throughout.
Daniele wanted an elegant experience (the invitation read “dress fabulously”) and Sara had her heart set on lilacs and live ceremony music. Gradient and Hue found the last of the season’s lilacs and we hid a string quartet in a tiny dressing room (along with a cake, two bouquets, two dresses and an officiant!) until Sara and Daniele announced to their nearest and dearest that they were actually there to witness their union!
The building vibrated with cheers and excitement when, after everyone had raised their glasses to toast to their cross-country move, Sara grabbed the mic from Daniele and hurriedly announced the exciting news. Talk about a fake out! Guests were ushered to the front patio to refresh their cocktails while we quickly transformed the room for the ceremony and Sara and Daniele changed from their cocktail attire to their beautiful silver and mauve gowns.
I have never experienced a ceremony in which the guests cheered from the second the processional started until the moment the officiant spoke his first words. They filled in the aisle, creating a semicircle of love and support and only parted to let Sara and Daniele recess as wives.
Thank you Sara and Daniele for bringing me along on your magical journey to the altar!
